Noobie Guide
From BBguida
Welcome to the Noobie page! Here you can get some quick advice to help you starting out in the world of BuzzerBeater!
The first thing to do is read the forums! There is so much valuable information there, and contributions from other players. As the game is still quite young, many factors in the game are unknown and so there are some good discussions going on all the time, as well as help for new players, and even some of the seasoned veterans.
Next, fire some players until you have about 10/12 players in your squad. The easiest way to choose who to dismiss is to use Assist (you can find a page about it on this site), or check wage, and DMI (although this stat is disregarded by many players in favour of looking at skills). You may want to keep younger players for training, even though they may not look like starters to begin with.
Managing your arena well is a good way of making money in the game. Once you start winning games, more and more people will want to watch your team perform! There are 2 ways of increasing arena revenue from games: increasing the capacity and increasing ticket prices. Many players prefer one over the other, but finding a balance that works for you is the key. Nobody likes to see empty seats, or pay extortionate prices for a basketball game.
At the time of writing, the staff system is soon to be changed, so it may not be a good idea to invest heavily in staff at the moment and save money for when people have a better idea of what is happening. However, as a rule, the coach is most important, followed by the PR manager, followed by the doctor.
Investing in scouting can bring some fantastic trainees that turn into real superstars, and maybe even national team players! The draft is carried out at the end of each season, and all the money spent throughout the season goes towards gaining information about the new prospects. As the teams that finish last take first pick (and those that finish first take the last), it is more profitable to spend more on scouting if you think you will finish lower in the league so that you can make sure you get that special player before anyone else.
Always bear in mind that multi-skilled players are much more useful and versatile than single skilled monsters!
