Each new team is given a set of basic staff: a doctor, trainer and PR manager. At the beginning, these are all level 1, but other can be signed up to level 7. These are their roles:

Doctor: A better doctor can reduce the number of injuries happening in a game, and also the length of the recovery period for more serious injuries. However, once a player is injured and has been given a recovery time, there is no way to reduce it, even if a better doctor is hired.

Trainer: The trainer is regarded as the most important staff member. The better the trainer, the quicker your players are trained. If you have a few 18-19 year olds in your squad and a high level trainer, with the right training, some fantastic results can be seen in a relatively short space of time.

PR Manager: Your PR manager deals with the public, getting them to come to see you play and to buy whatever they can afford to from the stalls. The higher your PR manager, the more merchandise you will sell and the easier you will be able to fill your arena at home games. However, if your team is on a 10 game losing streak, there is only a certain amount of good he can do...

Each staff member has an original salary, and each week his salary increases by 2%, up to a certain higher limit. Of course, higher level staff generally have a higher starting salary and a higher salary limit. If you want to hire a new member of staff, click on the "Find Replacement" button next to the unlucky victim and you can search for a fresh face to add to your team. However, be prepared to fork out a significant sum to tempt the best staff.

Specialities

Each member of staff can bring an added benefit which affects your team in a number of ways. Each one will most likely jack up the price of his original fee, but may be worth it in the long run. The specialities are as follows:

Doctors

Taping Injuries: When a player is injured during a game but the injury is not serious, the doctor may be able to patch him up and get him back out onto the court for the start of the next quarter.

Massage: If players play too many minutes in a training week, their game shape drop won't be as high with this speciality.

Trainers

Career Extension: Skill drops in older players won't happen as often with this trainer.

Fitness: Weekly stamina drops experienced by your players will reduce in size.

PR Managers

Crowd Involvement: Home court advantage is increased as your fans get put in a frenzy!

National Appeal: Your fan base extends wherever you travel, so you get more support for away games and opposition home court advantage is decreased.
